When we avoid having conversations that we consider to be hard, difficult or challenging we are also saying that we’re only committed to easy conversations.
You then find yourself in situations where you’re avoiding saying what you really think or how you really feel because you want to keep things easy.
However, this just leads to dissatisfaction and frustration with unresolved issues and feelings of being misunderstood.
We have to be open to having the conversations that require more of us.
And it turns out that avoiding difficult conversations might seem like the easiest option in the moment but it makes things harder in the long run.
