I have this belief about the people that we meet.
I believe that sometimes we meet people who may be in our lives for a few days, a few months or maybe for years and years but we meet them and they become reminders. They remind us of the way that things can be.
Maybe there is something in your life that is challenging, frustrating, difficult or stressful, the total opposite of easeful. Chances are, within your mind you know that things could or even should be different but you’re so used to the way that things are that you just allow them to remain.
Then all of a sudden you meet a person that shows you a different way. It can be shocking or surprising because you’re not used to it. Maybe you even judge it as being wrong or not the way that things should be because you’re so used to them being otherwise. Sometimes the ease of the situation is the very thing that you’ve been longing for but when you get it, you almost resist because you’ve gotten used to things being difficult .
I think that’s something a lot of people struggle with. So many people are used to things being difficult that they almost get hesitant when things become easier. Sometimes we unknowingly use the challenge and the difficulty to justify getting the thing we want. You end up feeling as though if you didn’t have to struggle to achieve something then you didn’t really deserve it. I think it’s healthy to let go of that mindset, not everything has to be difficult.
Write more than one post a day. Even if only one of them is worth publishing and the other one, two or 5 are just a few phrases.
Writing and sharing something everyday becomes easier the more you write.
And on the days when coming up with something from scratch doesn’t feel easy you can go back to one of your drafts and flesh out the 2 sentences you wrote last week.
It is so easy to get carried away.
There are lots of things that you could be afraid of but it doesn’t mean you should be.
I find that the more you focus on fear the more you amplify it until all of a sudden you’re having heart palpitations over something that would be better off as a passing thought.
There’s so much more to you and your life than the things you’re afraid of.
And sure it’s easier said than done but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t at least try.
For some people the idea that they can solve the problems and inconveniences in their life is not something they’ve considered.
When an inconvenience arises and you take the ‘do nothing approach’, it might not go away. It might remain or just grow and grow to the point where it’s unbearable.
Imagine you get a light pain in your back and it’s uncomfortable at the time but you just shrug it off assuming yeah, it’ll just go away. Maybe you’re right but your back is also quite important so it’s worth taking the ‘do it now approach’ and getting checked out.
In a few months that small pain could turn into something much worse.
The point I’m making can be applied to so many aspects of life.
Maybe at times we choose to do nothing because we don’t think it’s a big deal or we feel getting help would be an inconvenience for other people. Most significantly we assume that these little problems won’t be the cause of avoidable issues in the future.
The next time a problem or inconvenience comes up, don’t just ignore it, nip it in the bud as soon as you can, you don’t have to carry every little problem with you through life.
You can make things easier, if you want to.
Implementing good habits into your life can be difficult and so you might be put off from making changes in your life.
However the simple thing that might not have occurred to you is that you can try to make a good habit easier to keep up with.
It could be as easy as placing a glass of water at your bedside every night and carrying a refillable bottle with you where ever you go.
Downloading a guided meditation that you can listen to offline and setting your morning alarm with a note that reads ‘meditation time’ as a prompt.
Creating an evening ritual of preparing lunch for the next day whilst listening to a podcast at a set time daily.
Think about how you can arrange your day to make the habit you want to start practicing a seamless part of your routine.
Once you do that you’ll notice things get a little easier as long as you’re committed and willing to try.
