I think that there are 2 kinds of dreamers. One is the optimist and the other is the pessimist.
The optimist sees being a dreamer as a form of visualisation. That time spent with their head in the clouds is really just them being open to the possibilities of life and finding something that they want to being into their physical reality.
The pessimist dreams to escape. They see the gap between their dreams and reality as far too wide. Dreaming doesn’t lead to change in their life but it makes things a little more bearable.
I think most people spend time being both the optimist and the pessimist at some point because it can be challenging to always view things one way.
But there is a quote that goes:
Positive thinking won’t allow you to do anything, but it will allow you to do everything better than negative thinking will.
Zig Ziglar
And I love this quote because it really resonates with how I’ve experienced life. Having hope and believing in good outcomes doesn’t mean your life will be perfect and everything will go your way. But it is so much more helpful and feels so much better than believing that nothing will work out.
