The DIY pick me up guide

It’s currently the season of dark mornings, dark evenings, cold temperatures and bleak weather.

In these conditions It’s easy for morale to dip and to find yourself feeling blue.

And when that happens it’s useful to have some idea of how to help yourself. There’s nothing wrong with feeling down every now and then but the problem starts when it becomes a permanent condition.

What helps one person might be totally useless to another so it’s important to take the time to find what works for you.

Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

  • Watch funny clips from a show that makes you laugh
  • Go for a walk
  • Listen to your pick me up playlist
  • Call a friend and talk through how you’re feeling
  • Dance
  • Bake
  • Watch a favourite show/movie from your childhood
  • Put on an outfit you feel good in and take photos
  • Read uplifting blog posts

These things might not banish away the blues but they can serve as reminders of what it’s like to feel good because it can be easy to forget.
