You can’t control the outcome

In a recent interaction, the response made me realise that despite carefully picking my words, there was a misunderstanding.

I felt like I had over explained, dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s but somehow the other person didn’t understand what I was trying to say. It had me stumped.

In hindsight, it was a reminder that you can’t control the outcome of a situation. You can’t control how someone else will feel or react even when you try your best to be clear and considerate.

And despite a less than ideal outcome, it was also a reminder not to allow fear of how someone will respond stop you from speaking up.
