There are more than two options

A few weeks ago I was inspired by a reader to stick with this blog once the year comes to a close. I realised that it would be perfectly fine to just keep this blog and post less, it didn't have to be a choice between posting really often or not at all. I also … Continue reading There are more than two options →

How many times has this tweet been viewed?

Today I went on Twitter and saw a graph and number on the left hand side of each tweet indicating how many times it had been viewed. My first thought was if there was a way to turn it off. It doesn't benefit me to see how many times a tweet has been viewed. It's … Continue reading How many times has this tweet been viewed? →

A necessary break

Currently working on and through lots of different things in my life. I've allowed myself to take space from blogging in order to ensure that I'm not posting about things that are fresh and problems that I'm yet to solve. A current theme for me is acceptance and I feel very lucky that my life … Continue reading A necessary break →

The first 10 subscribers

Over the past few months I've found myself really interested in newsletters. Many of the blogs I used to regularly read are now sites I check out every once in a while or have just forgotten about altogether. People don't blog (or read blogs) like they used to and the sort of blog content that … Continue reading The first 10 subscribers →

Order status update

I recently placed an online order from a beauty retailer and one from a fashion retailer. Both orders were delayed and the companies handled things totally differently. One company handled it by providing regular email updates on the status of my order, to apologise for their delay and assure me that I'd receive my parcel … Continue reading Order status update →

2 things your blog might be missing

So, I've recently been reflecting on how I can make this site better. The things that came up were adding categories and adding a search bar. Categories give the reader a good idea of what they can can expect. Catergories also give the blogger structure as if you have to ensure what you write fits … Continue reading 2 things your blog might be missing →

  • My most popular blog posts of 2022
Reading back through these posts I'm reminded of the situations that inspired me to write them. I love that my most popular post from February 2022 was my valentines day post. Hoping to be back posting a little bit more this year, starting with a roundup of my most popular posts from each month of 2022. I was first introduced to Neuro-Linguistic Programming around 6 years ago when I had a conversation with a life coach. I'd never even heard of a life coach prior to this but I remember her speaking about NLP and I was really intrigued. A little while after I bought this book. It opened me up to different ways of thinking, some of which felt quite radical at the time but are very normal to me now. After almost 3 years of daily blogging, here are a few things that I found helpful. Some thoughts I had after a week of struggling to write. For me, looking back on old poems is like looking through a photo album. I write poems about life but also the people that have impacted me in some way. Years later, I can look back and remember those moments which I think is pretty special. The poems I have are from the past 8 years and so some of the people I've written about are no longer in my life but I love that I'm able to capture the memories in words. So this is something quite relevant in my life at the moment. We often confuse what we're thinking about with what's important which is only sometimes true. You might find yourself consumed with thoughts of a time you felt embarrassed and end up thinking that it really matters. If you're not sure whether something is important, ask yourself whether it matters in the grand scheme of life and death. More often than not, the answer is no. We often put so much pressure on ourselves to be simple and live simple lives (in terms of having everything go to plan). The truth is people are complex and so is life but that isn't a bad thing.
