Around 6 years ago I came across a podcast and that I really enjoyed. However, shortly after I discovered it, it ended. I enjoyed the podcast so much that I followed the hosts on their next individual ventures.
But overtime my interest in their work began to decline. It no longer felt suited to where I was at in my life and what I was interested in. It didn’t capture me the way their old podcast did, so I let go and stopped consuming it.
Letting go of old favourites can be difficult because we feel this sense of familiarity and maybe even nostalgia for the thing we once loved or enjoyed. But letting go also frees up time and space for us to discover new things that we might end up liking just as much, if not more than the old stuff.
