When ending one thing and starting another, how do you want it to feel?
On one hand the comparison between then and now might feel unhelpful. But on the other hand, the comparison allows you to view things clearly.
Instead of just moving onto the next thing, it helps to reflect on how similar it is to the previous thing otherwise it could end up being a waste of time.
An example of this could be leaving an intense fulltime job that requires you to work overtime and has been a source of deep stress for another job in the same environment.
If you want something different and especially if you want something better, you have to be clearer about what you actually want.
You need to be open to something progressive, something that is a step forward instead of something that looks different but is exactly the same.
