5 Reasons your blog might not be going as well as you’d hoped

Your content isn't cohesive If your content varies greatly, it doesn't allow you to appeal to any set of people as an audience. As good as it may seem to have mass appeal, if you want to build an audience the best thing you can do is start small. You post inconsistently If your reader … Continue reading 5 Reasons your blog might not be going as well as you’d hoped →

Optional commitment

In a recent conversation, I spoke about this blog and how I share something everyday. I explained that I don't allow 'feeling like I have nothing good to write' to hold me back from posting. For many people, the idea of making a commitment to do something that you don't have to do every single … Continue reading Optional commitment →

Daily blogging vs Journalling

I recently found myself journalling. It's something I did consistently for almost a decade. I stopped keeping a regular journal because it no longer served the purpose in my life that it did when I first started. These days I journal maybe once or twice a month. Sometimes just to let out frustration or get … Continue reading Daily blogging vs Journalling →

Reading back through these posts I'm reminded of the situations that inspired me to write them. I love that my most popular post from February 2022 was my valentines day post. Hoping to be back posting a little bit more this year, starting with a roundup of my most popular posts from each month of 2022. I was first introduced to Neuro-Linguistic Programming around 6 years ago when I had a conversation with a life coach. I'd never even heard of a life coach prior to this but I remember her speaking about NLP and I was really intrigued. A little while after I bought this book. It opened me up to different ways of thinking, some of which felt quite radical at the time but are very normal to me now. After almost 3 years of daily blogging, here are a few things that I found helpful. Some thoughts I had after a week of struggling to write. For me, looking back on old poems is like looking through a photo album. I write poems about life but also the people that have impacted me in some way. Years later, I can look back and remember those moments which I think is pretty special. The poems I have are from the past 8 years and so some of the people I've written about are no longer in my life but I love that I'm able to capture the memories in words. So this is something quite relevant in my life at the moment. We often confuse what we're thinking about with what's important which is only sometimes true. You might find yourself consumed with thoughts of a time you felt embarrassed and end up thinking that it really matters. If you're not sure whether something is important, ask yourself whether it matters in the grand scheme of life and death. More often than not, the answer is no. We often put so much pressure on ourselves to be simple and live simple lives (in terms of having everything go to plan). The truth is people are complex and so is life but that isn't a bad thing.
