How’s it going so far?

We’ve passed the half-way point of the month. Now is the time when people start falling off from their goals and plans.

Maybe last week you skipped a couple gym sessions and this week you haven’t even bothered going.

Maybe you’re 10k steps a day has been reduced to just going for a walk each day.

Maybe what you hoped would be a weekly dance class has just become a one off.

When it comes to goals and plans, you have to make them easy to keep up with and you have to be committed to going back to them when you get off track.

That could look like packing your gym bag, setting out your workout clothes and setting an alarm to get up for an early gym session tomorrow.

It could be adjusting the 10k steps to a 30 minute walk and doing that in the morning before work or on your lunch break. Perhaps you share this goal with a friend who has the same goal and you can keep each other accountable.

Lastly, book the dance class in advance so that you have something to lose by not showing up. That’ll probably encourage you to show up even when you don’t feel like.

When you set goals, in an ideal world everything will run smoothly. However, if things aren’t working out, don’t quit, just make some amendments and keep trying.
